Thundercats, Thundercats, Thundercats, Ho...ly crap!

Thundercats Fan Film (and Hollywood version news)

Hollywood continues to disappoint fan expectations with their bland/lame remakes. What is a creative fan to do?

Take to the streets and riot? No, too harsh.

Hunt down the half assed directors and producers and make them pay (in creative and monetary ways)? Sounds nice, but unless the film is THAT bad I’ll say not, too.

What then? Take matters into their own hands and show Hollywood that it can be done. It can be faithful (in look at least). And that it can look really kick ass, too!

We will be covering the best of the best fan films and fan trailers as they emerge (and going through the old links, as well). We’ll start with Thundercats.

The though of a live action movie did always sound a little silly to me. I just figured it would get too distorted by the Hollywood machine or just plain bad because they hand it off to a half-assed team that cares nothing for the source material.

Well, at least for this old school Thundercats fan I can say I no longer feel like it would be a silly idea. Why? Because WormyTV has made the fan trailer to end all fan trailers. At least in regards to Thundercats it is! We at Bitter Balcony are not easily impressed, but this trailer is fantastic

The “casting” for Vin Deisel as Panthro is one of the greatest “No Duh!” ideas as is Brad Pitt as Lion-O. The choices for the actors in this trailer are great (with the exception of Spy Kids).

Real Thundercat News

Well it turns out there has been some cool concept art produced and there is/was a project under development with Jerry O’Flaherty at the helm. I’m really hopeful that it’s done, but of course only if they really respect the source material (lessening hooky music and humor and bad dialog for the older fans of course).

There is a series of comic books that look like an entertaining foray into the world of Thundercats. They should keep us busy until the silver screen gets its chance to show us the goods. One can only hope that Hollywood doesn't disappoint! [crosses fingers and toes]

Actually this was a movie created by a fan, no movies (as far as I know) are going to be produced. Pretty cool for some expert movie hobbyist to have made!

The concept art in the article is from Warner Bros. which from what I understand has confirmed that here is a 3D Thundercats in development using the images above as part of its design. :)

Here's hoping for a good movie!

That trailer rocks, it is the coolest trailer since this year alongside 2012's trailer.

The trailer with Vin Deisel is a fan trailer, so who knows who will really get casted. Panthro is a supporting character. As long as they keep it like that I think Vin Deisel would make a great choice.

I think the concept art shows some vision. It would probably be best if they went full CG on this one, but we'll see.

great. another remake of comic books.

only hope that they are not making another one like catwoman or electra. but with Vin Deisel I guess it is hard not to.
