Film Challenge Screenings: One Roll of Super 8

Bitter Balcony ventured into parking-deficient Capitol Hill with a singular purpose in mind: To witness the 8mm fury fandango that was advertised by Nortwest Film Forum HERE. After a looong, maddening search for parking (dear lord what is the issue here), we arrived in the nick of time to witness the 8 mm spectacle in all its low-fi, mostly silent, glory.

This was the first event BB attended that was hosted by Northwest Film Forum and I wasn't sure what to expect.

Nolan’s Soooo Super: News on his Superman revamp and of course, Batman!

Sweeney Todd: Flat Ass Musical of Fleet Street

Sweeney Todd (2006)

“Sweeney Todd” gives us yet another opportunity to experience Tim Burton remaking someone else’s crap. This time out, it's a musical. Sweeney Todd is the alter ego of a man who was shafted by a prominent figure in order to have his wife snatched out from under him. Todd was originally Benjamin Barker, a barber. He is set up, spend time in jail, and returns for his sweet, sweet revenge. Of course, like any vengeance-obsessed man, he does it with music and a lot of blood. Teaming with Mrs. Lovett he slowly works his way through those whom did him wrong.
