Haywire(2012)Steven Soderberg has made movies from artsy explorations of characters to Science Fiction films with a romantic and heavily ambient tone to a Hollywood film about the war on drugs. These are but a few themes he’s explored. He’s never attempted to shoot a straight up action film, which is what he set out to do with “Haywire”.
“Haywire” begins with a fight a diner followed by an interesting car jacking. From there we begin to learn how Mallory (Gina Carano) got to that point and what the motivations are for the rest of the tale. Mallory, a black ops soldier, has been betrayed and plans to find out who did and why. The bodies begin to pile as she gets deeper and deeper into this tangled web of lies.

Wall Street: We had to go back 24 years to find a good Charlie Sheen movie, that's how much we care!
Wall Street(1987)Charlie Sheen is one of the lucky men in the world to have the blood lineage of a mythological deity, but even rarer than Sheen’s potent DNA is finding a movie with him that’s actually GOOD. Yes, Sheen can bring orgasmic bliss to hookers on cocaine binges before storing them in the closets of hotel rooms, but when it comes to the quality of his work, he might as well have gerbil blood. Fortunately for Sheen, the handsome, cocky punk with a slick mouth that he is became the muse for director Oliver Stone during his glory days, before acid flashbacks and voices in his head yelling “Charlie” got the best of the renegade director. 1987’s “Wall Street” is a great American film about the intricacies of the Stock Trade, as well as a classic morality tale about the limits of excessiveness.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps(2010)America ’s pursuit of prosperity took a dreadful dip during the bank collapses of 2008, causing a recession not seen in the land of opportunity since the beginnings of Franklyn Roosevelt’s presidency. Words like “bailout” and “foreclosure” are now prevalent in our lingo, and names like AIG and Bernie Madoff became synonymous with white collar villainy. Alas, Oliver Stone, whose recent creative efforts have plunged lower than Goldman/Sachs, found an opportune time to bring his infamous trade raider Gordon Gekko back to his slick hair, three-piece suit form.
Michael Douglas is back as Gekko in “Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps," and this time, the young and ambitious upstart is Shia LaBeouf as Jake Moore, taking over for the naïve but hungry Bud Fox played by Charlie Sheen in the first movie. Jake is a natural at the financial game, but has idealist goals that have him backing an alternative energy company in need of a major investment push. Jake is also dating the equally idealist Winnie (Carey Mulligan), who happens to be Gekko’s estranged daughter.
