Shutter Island -- Old stinky lamb shank in Martin Scorsese's new Asian sauce. [User Review]

Shutter Island (2010)

Shutter Island is like slow cooked lamb shanks. Its got the interesting (to some) sauce and right texture, and spices, but unfortunately the lamb shanks itself is tough or maybe stinky off.

The setup of the movie was in 1954, yes, so conveniently there is no mobile phone, no helicopters and no surveillance cameras. A federal Marshal arrived Shutter Island with his partner to investigate the missing case of a dangerous psychiatric female patient. As his investigation progressed further his personal background and traumatic past unfolded, and he realised that this was more than just a missing patient he was confronting.

Keep your cape and mask in your closets, Bat-fans! Inception is here!

Inception

The most interesting trailer in the Inglorious Basterds showing was the shortest, a quick tease of Christopher Nolan's Inception. Set for next Summer, Nolan will try to hold our interest until he rounds up the gang for the inevitable third Batman film with this sci-fi mystery.

Leonardo DiCaprio is the lead(which got some chuckles from the audience since this tease was shown right after Scorsese's Shutter Island trailer. Hollywood has a fever, and the only prescription, is more DiCaprio, baby!) as he appears to be involved in another web of intrigue. The tease has a Matrix feel to it, not only by an overview shot of the city as a map, but with a fight breaking out inside a hotel corridor with both men flying halfway through the air(no sighting of The Architect, I'm Afraid).
