Sacha Baron Cohen will play the rock legendFunnyman Sacha Baron Cohen of "Borat" and "Bruno" fame has been cast as the late Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in an upcoming biopic of the flayboyant singer, according to Reuters(for full article, go to http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=69907). Sacha Baron Cohen will put his dramatic skills on the line, and recover from the lackluster turn as the gay fashion journalist Bruno. As for Queen, band members Brian May and Roger Taylor will be involved in the music soundtrack. A director has yet to be announced.

“Sweeney Todd” gives us yet another opportunity to experience Tim Burton remaking someone else’s crap. This time out, it's a musical. As we said when “Alice in Wonderland” came out: Burton, please stop with the freaking remakes. Your original stuff rocks, but your remakes blow harder than Mt. Saint Helen on a bad day. Sweeney Todd is the alter ego of a man who was shafted by a prominent figure in order to have his wife snatched out from under him. Todd was originally Benjamin Barker, a barber. He is set up, spend time in jail, and returns for his sweet, sweet revenge. Of course, like any vengeance-obsessed man, he does it with music and a lot of blood. Teaming with Mrs. Lovett he slowly works his way through those whom did him wrong. |

Bruno What we have here is Sacha Baron Cohen taking a character of extreme nature (a flamboyant fashionista, which is openly gay) and running around public and private places. When I mention private places I also mean those in his pants. The man loves to wave shake, twirl and wiggle his dangling unmentionables in front of the camera every chance he gets.  |
