Date Night [USER REVIEW] [User Review]

Date Night

I went to see "Date Night" despite the fact that Mark Walberg is in it. I still haven’t forgiven him for "The Happening" or "Max Payne". After being in two of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life you can’t blame me for blaming him for all that is wrong with cinema.

First we have the ironically named "Happening" which was so bad that it made me think "Get Smart" was the best movie ever. Not that "Get Smart" was a horrible movie, it was okay, but the reason I found it so wonderful is that I snuck into it after watching "The Happening" since I desperately needed something to get the taste of crapulence out of my mouth. Then after that he does "Max Payne".

Nothing happens in "The Happening". NOTHING! Yet, the scene running away from stationary plants in "The Happening" had more action that "Max Payne" had in the entire movie. However, "Date Night" was funny and then I remembered that he was in "I Heart Huckabees" too. I really like that movie, so I guess maybe his evil doesn’t extend to comedies.

So anyway, about "Date Nigh"t; the movie is exactly what you expect it to be amusing, but not ground breaking. I take that back, it does have the distinction of being one of the few romantic comedies in which the main characters seem like people that would actually be involved in a relationship with each other. The movie is fun to watch, but mostly because it has some really good actors than for its script, which I have mostly forgotten even though I only saw it four days ago.

You are off my list for now Marky Mark, but watch it!

And by the way, "Say hello to your mother for me. "

I still think Marky Mark has a long way to go to gain any credibility. Much too many stinkers back to back.

thanks for posting, jinglebat! Not much for Wahlberg, I'm afraid.

I don't even remember what broght Mark to where he is now, which film? what did he do?

anyway, since (and include) planet apes, he just did one bad file after another. I hate him after Max Payne. I hate him.

It was either "Fear" or "Boogie Nights." One of those two got him "on the map." But I agree, this man is a stinker. He needs to stop acting for a while then come back and really TRY to act, not just do his usual "say hello to yo motha for me" routine.

I will say that I do like "Entourage", so he has some tiny bonus points for that one.
