Lookout: Iron Man 2
Well, there isn’t much to say about this one, but for our Bitter Balcony comic week bonanza, we can’t think of a bigger film for 2010. By now, all you guys have seen and more than likely anticipate the return of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in “Iron Man 2”. By the looks of the trailer, this movie has all we can ask for: the bad-ass faux Russian accent heel Whiplash (Mickey Rourke), a faux Russian accent major babe Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and some pretty cool new armor suits for Iron Man and War Machine (Don Cheadle).
The always cool Sam Rockwell joins the cast as Tony Stark’s corporate nemesis Justin Hammer, while Fan boy vixen Olivia Nunn will show her acting chops as Iron Maiden. Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Stark’s love interest Pepper Potts and Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will has a larger turn than his ending credits scene in the first film.
We’re sure returning director and writer Jon Favreau and Justin Theroux will deliver the goods, and the duo might explore the darker aspects of Tony Stark’s personality, due in part to his alcoholism. “Iron Man 2” has the potential of being better than its predecessor, a trend in comic book film series like “Batman” and “Hellboy”. At worst, this movie will foreshadow Marvel Studios true prized possession “The Avengers”. Anyways, we bring you the trailer, and if you guys have seen it 999 times, BB is glad to make it 1,000!
