Miramax closed!
Disney has shut the doors on a studio that made (or released) quite a bit of great movies and some poor ones [cough] Highlander III [cough]. Lucky for us there are still plenty of studios to make poor movies for us to bash.
All kidding aside the studio that got Tarantino going, amongst some other good directors in the '90s, will be slightly missed. Only slightly though as some of the bad people they got started are still working too.

P.S. Disney really blows if you factor out Pixar's work, so what do you think - was this a wise move?

Miramax died the day the Weinsteins left, so it was time to put this dog to rest. Great studio in its heyday, perhaps the only one to juggle art and mainstream together. For Disney, they got more going on than movies, so I guess they don't care.
Agreed on all points especially that it was done when the Weinsteins left.
