How do you feel about the incoming Red Dawn remake?

Brilliant! I'd love to see how they pull it off considering the changes in since the '80s

Give me a break! Why bother with it? How exactly will Russia and Cuba pull it off?

I won't be seeing it because I don't want to see the libtards in Hollywood ruin a memory from my youth.

The teaser trailer for, "A Nightmare On Elm Street" is supposed to air tonight. Produced by yours truly, Michael Bay. Wondering if you'll catch it sometime.

It even has Michael Bay written all over it. I'm not joking, his name appears in the credits.................shame.

Awesome! Thanks for the link! I'll write up an impression for it and probably post it tomorrow morning.

I'll probably post my impression on the trailer tomorrow actually. ;)

I bet when Hollywood (collectively) was in school he would always copy off his neighbors answer sheet.

Hey retards, try coming up with something original!

The third option was added as it was requested via IMDB.com and is a valid argument.

Holy overwhelming (for the new option) response! I didn't realize that many people felt this way. I have to agree though.

It made sense then, in the 80's.

It was the peak of the Cold War, and America was basically standing around in parachute pants waiting for Armageddon to start. Back then, we all pretty much expected that one day we'd glance out the window during study hall and see a sky full of Communist paratroopers.

Nothing from the 80s belongs in today's world. The themes, the fashion trends, all ridiculous

JAS on Sat, 09/26/2009 - 11:30pm

I agree that this movie was made for its time. Without the Cold War looming over us the threat is not there. I can't see an audience today connecting with a movie about Russia invading. Russia is not America's boogeyman anymore. We have terrorists now.

This is the sad thing about where movies are going. Russians are a threat in numbers, science and in politics. Terrorists are almost so mindless that they are nowhere near as interesting as villains. (Do not take this as a political statement - I mean this purely as in how it relates to art)

I have frequently wanted to recommend Fail-Safe (both versions are good, but the original is fantastic) to people, but I think if you are not old enough to remember the days that the Russians were the enemy then you will not be as impacted by the movie as I was 2 years ago when I was fortunate enough to experience it for the first time. The same goes for this movie. If it is with the Russians it will have to be handled completely differently than it was in the past and I'm not sure if audiences will connect to it.

Also, I doubt it will have the grit and struggle that the original did. If they keep that chopper/girl and then grenade/girl scene it will be because they feel obligated and not because it should be in the story.

As far as the '80s being ridiculous. Sure they are, but that is what made it great - and missed by so many now-a-days.

I caught on this one on the late ninety and felt it was rather bad. I am still curious in knowing how they will pull it off but eitherway it will be bad so No NO is my answer.
