those are the names in my head for this instance. they are the movies somehow made into 'classic' list. but if you agree that are masterpieces as well, then I think we are set for the question.

I personally feel there is a clear distinction between a Classic and a Masterpiece. There plenty Classics that, though close, do not qualify as masterpieces to me.
